body safety
This week we reviewed the body safety lesson we had in kindergarten. Mrs. Wilson read the same book and again reminded us about "swimsuit parts" and how these parts should not be talked about or touched at school because they make people uncomfortable. She also talked about other language like "boyfriend," "girlfriend," "marriage," "kissing," and other relationship words are not age appropriate and may make people uncomfortable at school. She said we should not be using these words when talking about our peers. However, it is always okay to talk about anything with a safe adult!

"Swimsuit Parts" Body Cut-outs
These little guys are laminated cut-outs that are used during Life Skills to talk about where our "swimsuit parts" are. The red parts are like a stop sign. These are the parts we do not talk about or touch at school. I always tell the kids that if I ever re-make them, I might add red to the faces. These are not swimsuit parts, but they are parts that people should also not be talking about or touching at school!
