Bucket Filling
We learned about bucket filling in Life Skills this month. We know that everyone carries an invisible bucket. When their bucket is full, they are happy but when their bucket is empty, they are sad. We can fill other's bucket's by using kind words and actions, smiling at someone, sharing, including others, and just saying hello. Every time we fill a bucket, our own bucket fills up too! We practiced by coming up with ideas to fill either a classmate's bucket or our teacher's bucket. It felt pretty good! You can follow up at home by asking your child to share one thing they did today that filled up someone else's bucket. Ask them if anyone did anything that filled theirs. Finally, you can share with them if anyone filled your bucket today! This is a great daily ritual for dinner or bedtime - it really emphasizes self-reflection and appreciation.
