Bucket Filling
We learned about Bucket filling in Life Skills this month. We know that everyone carries an invisible bucket. When their bucket is full, they are happy but when their bucket is empty, they are sad. We can fill other's bucket's by using kind words and actions, smiling at someone, sharing, including others, and just saying hello. Every time we fill a bucket, our own bucket fills up too! We watched a fun music video that showed reminded us what it means to be a bucket filler. (See the link below to view it). You can follow up at home by asking your child to share one thing they did today that filled up someone else's bucket. Ask them if anyone did anything that filled theirs. Finally, you can share with them if anyone filled your bucket today! This is a great daily ritual for dinner or bedtime-it really emphasizes self-reflection and appreciation.

The Bucket Filler song video
We watched the following video because some of us remember better when music is incorporated into the lesson. This video reminds us to be bucket fillers. Mrs. Wilson's favorite part of the video is when it says, "If I start to slip a little bit, maybe even dip a little bit, I know I can turn it around. I can make your smile out of that frown." We ALL will make mistakes, but what is important is how we respond to them!
